Kanter, teste Boethô, Akermonchead Camdeno. Sed Boetho fides. Novantum aliis est Chersonesus Gallovidiae, regionis Scotiae in ora occidua, vulgo the Mull of Gallowaey. Proximi sunt Selgovae ad austrum, vulgo Solway, ubi Solveus flumen et Trimontium urbs, vulgo Uzeli, seu Cela: et Damnii ad boream, ubi Glota seu Cluda fluvius, quorum regio Sterlingshire; in qua urbes Glascoa, et Castrum Britonum, vulgo Donbriton, apud Bedam Alcluid. Tametsi alii aliter de Damniis sentiunt. Horum ratio minus confusa et incerta. Novantae, (Novantes Camdeno) populi Albionis, in Scotia et occidentam, quorum regio ubi hodie Gallovidia, Galoway, cuius pars occidentalis est peninsula contra Hiberniam, (inde 20. milliar. distantem, teste Lhuydô) nonnullis Novantum Chersonesus, et Novantum promontorium dicta (quod tamen Mercator et Boethus statuunt, ubi hodie Cantyre; perperam, nam ibi olim Epidum.) His proximi sunt Selgovae ad austrum, ubi Solveus fluv. sive fretum, (vulgo Solway Frith, prope Solway oppidum) ubi et Trimonium urbs, ut et Uxelum: Damnii vero ad Boream, ubi Glota seu Cluda fluvius, quorum regionis pars est hodie Sterlingshire; in qua urbes Glascoa, et Castrum Britonum, vulgô Dunbriton, apud Bedam Alcluid. Tametsi alii aliter de Damniis sentiunt, Ferrar.
